Little Jack Corner Kitchen SinksIf you have a corner, I have a kitchen sink for you. Corner kitchen sinks are, strange enough, designed to fit in the corner of a room. If you want to mount it from underneath the sink hole, it's called an 'undermount' sink. I never see them called 'above mount' sinks, though. American Standard is an American Standard for sinks, They make every kind of sink except fancy ones. Their sinks are more in the traditional line of what you'd call a sink. They don't have sinks which are shaped like a goose, or sinks that sit on the surface of the counter and look like a piece of sculpture like the Galaxy Red Sink. They're just good ol' sinks with good ol' construction so they will withstand years of abuse when little kids whack on them with spoons trying to play songs to the radio. You know your kid and what he can do to a sink in just one day? Corner kitchen sinks are a good choice because what little boy likes standing in the corner? They have to go stand in the corner way too many times in life, so if they have to stand in the corner to use the sink, they probably won't stand there long enough to try playing a song on the sink with your spoons.
Franke sounds like it might be somebody's uncle, but it's actually the name of a sink company. They create sinks that are not quite so bland as the American Standard sinks are. I'm looking at a stainless steel Franke sink at this very instant. It is quite nice, with two basins which are molded as if they were two dipped curves of sculpture set amidst a sea of stainless steel with no boats. It has one fixture stuck right in the center that's simple yet divine. To the right is a picture of a Whale thing which probably doesn't come with the sink. The model number is RGX160 and it's called the Regatta Stainless Steel Undermount - Double Bowl Kitchen. You should see this, it's quite stupendous. Go Girl¡ Whoops I was talking about corner sinks. That could probably be shoved into a corner, but it would probably bend if you did that. Lets see if Franke makes any corner sinks. Oh, by the way, if you're typing on Google and you get your hands in the wrong place as you type, it comes out as the word cprmer instead of corner. ¡go figure. Yes they do. It's model number AMX671E and it goes for an earth-shattering $1,125 dollars. Breathe girl, breathe. But, boy, does it look nice. It bends in the middle so you can call it a corner sink, and it's stainless steel, and it's got two basins, and in the middle is a little rectangular dip that you could put something in. That hole looks like it would turn into a bacteria pit, though. And, I suppose they figure that you'd put your sink strainer in the center of that thing? How would it fit? I don't think I'd pay $1200 dollars for it. So, when you're looking for corner kitchen sinks, look around. You don't want to pay $1200 for a sink that is going to breed bacteria. |
